Jay Lawrence is the founder of Trident Training Solutions, Inc., which provides professional training and consultation services to clients seeking customer service, de-escalation and law enforcement related courses.
With over 20 years of experience in law enforcement and security, Mr. Lawrence has held progressively responsible positions in the private security, by-law enforcement and special constable professional fields.
In his experience as the Acting Head and Chief Special Constable, Mr. Lawrence was responsible for the provision of law enforcement and security services within Canada’s largest urban transit system.
His passion remains in training and curriculum development. As the Staff Sergeant and Manager of Training and Logistical Support, Mr. Lawrence was responsible for the research, development, evaluation, and delivery of mandatory and professional development training within the department. His duties expanded to creating and delivering training for other departments and external stakeholders regarding safety, security, and law enforcement related topics.
As a Director of the Ontario Special Constable Association, Mr. Lawrence's portfolio focuses on government affairs. He continues to be active at the subject-matter-expert technical tables with the Ministry of the Solicitor General in the creation of new legislation and regulations surrounding Special Constable roles, responsibilities, and training in Ontario.
Mr. Lawrence has his Honors Diploma in Police Foundations and has continued his education receiving post-secondary certificates in Adult Education and Curriculum Development.
